How do you price a website?

Transcript:

Hi, it’s Tosca here.

I just thought I’d respond to the question: “How do you price a website?”

If you’ve never bought website before, it can be quite bewildering trying to compare all the prices.

It even does my head in sometimes when I see all the different pricing options available that just pop up on Google.

It was like, I remember going to shop for a drill and the trek around the DIY shops, trying to work out if a hammer drill was needed, not to mention the bits, the chuck and the keys.

Shopping for something new for the first, or even the second time, is not that easy.

So, this is how I price a website:

So, there’s the domain name, the web hosting.

There’s how many pages are needed to meet the objectives of the business?

What’s going on the pages?

Are there any special functionalities, like ecommerce for instance?

Is copyrighting required?

Is there a need for a logo?

Is a blog needed?

How much keyword research will I need to do for this particular client?

How much training will be needed?

And how much added value can I add to this business that I’m working with?

So that’s 10 essential elements that go into pricing a website – for me anyway.

If we have a discussion about a website we’ll go through those questions.

So, I hope that helps next time you go website shopping.
